Paulus, On the Edict, Book XLV. A release is also given from conditions which are opposed to good morals, for instance, “If he should not ransom his father from the enemy”; or “If he should not furnish support to his parents or his patron”.
Paulus, On the Edict, Book XLV. Where a woman is placed in prætorian possession of an estate in the name of her unborn child, the pupillary will should be opened, in order that it may be ascertained to whom the curatorship of the child was entrusted.
Paulus, On the Edict, Book XLV. But if the parties still have time to comply with the condition, he will not be liable under this section of the Edict.
Paulus, On the Edict, Book XLV. It is not just, however, as Pedius says, that judgment should be rendered for a larger sum than the value of the share of the owner, and therefore it is the duty of the judge to make an estimate of the different shares.
Paulus, On the Edict, Book XLV. Labeo says that he who carries on business to the same extent in several places has no domicile in any of them. It is, however, stated that certain authorities hold that he can be a resident of, and have a domicile in several places. This is true.
